The core of the platform is an automatic collection system that uses SerpAPI to track mentions of the Aguas Firmes program in Mexican digital media and institutional social media posts. The engine runs configurable thematic queries and loads results directly into the PostgreSQL database, eliminating the manual process that previously took hours each week. With over 300 published entries covering the 2020–2026 period, the platform records media mentions, social media posts, program milestones and institutional events, each with its source, ally, region, tone and associated engagement metrics.

Aguas Firmes is a public-private alliance program between GIZ Mexico, Grupo Modelo and Industria Mexicana Coca-Cola, focused on aquifer infiltration in strategic regions of Mexico. For Make Me Ideas I built a complete Django platform that automates mention collection using SerpAPI, classifies editorial tone with Claude AI, and presents an analytical dashboard with coverage evolution, social media engagement, and analysis by ally and region. The tool allows the communications team to make decisions based on real program data 2021–2027.

Automatic Media and Social Media Mention Monitor
Analytical Dashboard with AI Tone Classification
The dashboard presents executive KPIs organized in three blocks: program totals (2020–2026), last month analysis with variation vs previous month and vs same month last year, and evolution charts with period selector. Claude AI classifies the editorial tone of media mentions as positive, neutral or negative, with 85% positive coverage in the analyzed period. The total cards show web coverage (180 mentions), social media presence (105 posts) and consolidated impact (303 records), each with the annual figure, percentage variation vs previous year and donut chart of the year's share over the historical total.
Interactive Timeline and Advanced Filters
The Timeline view organizes entries in a vertical accordion by year and month, with coverage statistics per period. The filter system allows segmentation by content type, ally (GIZ, Grupo Modelo, Coca-Cola), region/aquifer (Calera Zacatecas, Apan Hidalgo, CDMX), program phase, year and specific source. Filters are stackable and applied via AJAX without page reload. A free-text search bar in the navigation allows finding mentions by title, description or source. The interface is fully responsive with a side drawer on mobile for filters.
